So last night I had the pleasure of going to the opening of the NYX Store in Westfield Stratford and I just had to share some snippets with you because it is amazing in there! I remember when they launched in Boots last year and I was so excited to finally get my hands on some of their most sought after goodies, only to find out that a lot of the things I wanted had sold out straight away! Booo! I don’t think there is any chance of this happening here as they have so much stock, and so much variety – it is every make-up lovers dream!
If you know me then you know I hate buying things online, as
a women of colour it is difficult to know how a particular shade will look on
you without actually trying it out. And I'm also rather impatient so when I
see something, I want it straight away – nothing beats the feeling of walking
out of a makeup store with a bag full of goodies J
But I guess the thing I love the most about NYX is
that it is a drugstore brand and its so refreshing to see something new on the high street! Their prices are super affordable and
they cater to all skin colours and make up types. So whether your after some bright pink eyeshadow, a train case or simply a nude lipgloss, you can find it all in the one place. Their products are super versatile so its the perfect go to destination for make up artists, fanatics, and even make up virgins (is there such a thing?!)
The launch party was amazing as they had invited some of my
favourite bloggers so it was a great chance to mingle – and they had mocktails,
cocktails, a DJ, a candyfloss booth, a cake and a selfie stand all on hand for
an evening specifically catered to instagram/youtube addicts ;) They even when the extra mile and had a pair of Graffiti artists personalising make up boxes for all the guests.
One of my favourite parts of the store – aside from aisles
and aisles of makeup! – is the dressing table set up in the middle. The
brightly lit mirrors give a convenient place to test out the different products in
store, and of course get that perfect selfie.
The new store opens today, 29th March at
Westfield Stratford, and I can’t wait to go back! Let me know if you check it
